COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE MANAGER
YOU: Service Superstar, Organizational Whiz, Secret Tech Nut
The goal of this part-time Community Experience Manager role within the Liz Kimball ecosystem is to co-create and deliver the most positive, ethical, inclusive, supportive, and streamlined client, learning and work experience possible for all community members.
A significant part of this work involves The Collective, an online network where intelligent, imaginative, talented, progressive womxn and non-binary creators come together to create change through creative work. I also support my community through writing, speaking and 1:1 coaching.
Sound like something you want to know more about? Keep reading for the details & apply!
HOW YOU’LL SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY:
Communications Management
- Ensure all community relationships, within and outside The Collective, are actively, respectfully and warmly served and informed via email, across delivery channels and platforms (currently Facebook, Kajabi), and through our resource materials.
Scheduling Management
- Help Liz and the community stay organized by proactively maintaining the coaching and programming calendars as well as availability across Google Calendar and Acuity to ensure alignment with the overall editorial calendar.
Ongoing Community Service, Support and Records Management
- As, typically, the first point of contact with us, be a trusted guide for prospective clients interested in working with Liz and joining The Collective. Take great care of our current community members by expertly managing the Collective and 1:1 client onboarding, delivery, offboarding, and feedback process to proactively help identify opportunities for enhanced service excellence as well as to inform programming.
Membership Systems and Technical Support
- Manage our extensive video and resource/content library on Kajabi, ensuring materials are well-organized and accessible for all community members, updating payment/programming options and portals for The Collective and (currently on Kajabi) troubleshooting membership tech issues as necessary.
Other
- Co-create and track the quarterly and monthly editorial calendar for The Collective while supporting Liz with deadline and content management as well as take ownership for managing all process-oriented documentation for your new role.
IMPORTANT NOTE: as our community and programming grows and shifts together, this role too will evolve. Sometimes you might be asked to contribute in ways which fall outside the original job description. If you’re excited by the prospect of growing with us, co-creating your own role, and becoming an integral part of a creative, service-oriented, adaptable, forward-thinking team, this job is for you!
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
- A deep understanding of relationship-building, client and community service within a solopreneur/service-provider landscape.
- A tactful approach to engaging in difficult conversations, resolving challenges, or even managing up when the situation calls for it.
- A love for creating simple, engaging ways to build and strengthen community while remaining committed to the fundamentals: great organization, communication, inclusion, design, and delivery.
- A deep, genuine commitment to bettering the lives and raising the voices of all community members.
- Warmth, curiosity, creativity and passion for your work, the community, and building an inclusive and equal world.
AND YOU ALSO ARE/HAVE:
- Client-centered. Aspire to experiences over transactions. Demonstrated experience in a service-centric environment.
- Innate ability to recognize, set, and respond to priorities while keeping vision and values top-of-mind. You move quickly yet thoughtfully and are able to manage both the big picture and the small touches with confidence.
- Meticulous, detailed, quality-driven.
- Experience calmly managing many moving parts (projects, people, priorities). Clear, proactive communicator who gets things done.
- Demonstrated understanding/appreciation for and exposure to the kind of coaching and creative work Liz supports. Previous experience working with creative folks a plus.
- Excited to work with Liz! Ready to play an integral role in shaping a growing business while scaling-up your involvement over time.
- Tech-savvy. Service is your #1 priority and you can comfortably navigate email platforms, Google Workspace, Facebook groups, Kajabi, Acuity, Canva, Slack, and Zoom to deliver. If you’re not sure, you figure it out.
- Availability and willingness to provide occasional evening and weekend support for virtual events.
- Access to a reliable computer/laptop, cell phone, and high-speed internet.
WORKING WITH LIZ MEANS:
You’re all in.
- In this role you will create a huge impact on our clients and wider community, actively contributing to projects which could benefit up to thousands of people.
You’ll play a significant role in continuing to build an ethical, creative, sustainable, inclusive business on a mission to support womxn and creatives making positive change.
- We are strongly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion within our team and our community. We are anti-racist, and engaged in anti-racism education. We are also committed to gender equity and addressing ageism, ableism, and all forms of sex discrimination.
- We are devoted to creating the most supportive home in the world for womxn and non-binary creators to actualize and amplify their creative work. We believe that making space for these essential and underrepresented voices to flourish means a more peaceful and just world for all.
- We acknowledge the systemic injustices that continue to keep certain groups undercapitalized and economically marginalized and, in an effort to contribute towards rectifying this issue, we offer full scholarships within The Collective to womxn in the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, womxn with a disability/disabilities, neurodiverse womxn, and other underrepresented groups who genuinely need this financial assistance.
- We donate 5% of profits from The Collective to causes supporting womxn and justice, and we are constantly seeking more ways to support organizations and people working to create anti-racist communities, climate justice, and gender equity.
Your voice matters.
- We work collaboratively and with an ethic of co-creation. Your voice is important and your ideas will be welcomed. We have big ambitious goals, and you will be an essential part of development and our next stage of growth.
You’ll enjoy flexibility.
- This role is virtual. You can live anywhere in the world and do this job so long as you have a good internet connection. Being in the greater NYC area is a plus, but not required. There will be deadlines to meet and meetings to attend (virtually to start), but you’ll have a ton of autonomy to otherwise manage your schedule in order to get stuff done in a way that’s optimal for you. As long as you remain communicative and accountable, we’re good!
- We aim to take two days off a week. Due to the nature of our time zones, creative schedules, and programming (we occasionally host events on weekends and evenings) this doesn’t always mean the traditional work-week. We care deeply about your well-being and look forward to collaborating with you to create a spacious and effective schedule that works for all of us.
